How can I catch it?
From having unprotected sex, sperm and vaginal moisture, through sharing needles through minute particles of blood in the syringe, a pregnant mother can pass it onto her baby during the pregnancy, at the birth or through breastfeeding.
How will I know I have it?
Unfortunately there are very few symptoms. Only be having a blood test at your local sexual health clinic will tell you if you have HIV.
How can I get rid of it?
There still is no cure. However, there are certain medicines that have been developed which may allow you to live longer.
What will happen if I don’t get it treated?
HIV is a virus which destroys the immune system. You need your immune system to fight everyday infections. Aids is the condition that people with HIV die from. It is believed that if you don’t have treatment, you may develop aids much sooner.
